Winter Returns
It looks like the slat rats (skiers) should be happy. Winter has returned to The Orgeon Cascades with over two feet of snow at pass level in the last week and more on the way.
This image was taken last year when I strapped on the snowshoes and wandered into Hackelman Creek. It was the first time I had been there. We went up and took a look at it a month or so ago and made an interesting discovery. I couldn't find the same spot by staying on the trail! Kind of tells me I missed a trail marker in the snow last year. The good thing is it is pretty easy to follow your own footsteps back out.
I may have to give it another shot up there this winter. I also have a couple of other places in mind that could be interesting for photos.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you that put up with me and follow The Photo Of The Week.
My photo for next week will probably be something from Central Oregon as I will be wandering over there to make cranberry sauce and watch the legs fall off the turkey (family joke). Sorry.... couldn't help it.
Hope you enjoy.
Have a great week,
Mike
The countdown continues on the 2010 Return To Alaska trip. More info in the links below.
I have started an Alaska 2010 web site here with current information on where we stand, where we will be going and what we will be doing. When we return from the site photos and such will be added after we get back like I did on the Alaska 2005 site.
Hope you enjoy the photo,
