12/27/09 - Week 158
'Twas the week after Christmas..
and all through the house, the gifts have been opened and the packaging trashed.
Now take a look at those gifts and see where the elf's were working that made them. I won't go into a rant on this and I'm sure not saying the majority of the fault lies with the buying public but it is something to think about when you look at the unemployment rate in the U.S.
If you are at all curious as to what the image is of, it is a 1940 Kodak No. 1 KODAMATIC 35mm film camera. The camera belonged to my Dad and goes back as far as I remember in the family. Dad passed it off to me a couple of years before he died. It now lives on a shelf above my desk along with my old Argus 75 which also has "Made In USA" stamped on it.
While Kodak did not make the highest quality cameras, they did make them affordable. If you are in my age group, when you start going through those old family albums and find that image of yourself with a dumb look on your face, you can probably blame it on George Eastman and one of his Kodak cameras.
Hope you enjoy this weeks shot.
Happy New Year to you and yours!!
Have a great week,
Mike
The countdown continues on the 2010 Return To Alaska trip. More info in the links below.
I have started an Alaska 2010 web site here with current information on where we stand, where we will be going and what we will be doing. When we return from the site photos and such will be added like I did on the Alaska 2005 site.
