01/10/10 - Week 160
After The Storm..
Often the best time to shoot waves on the Oregon Coast is the day after the big storm. It didn't quite work out that way last weekend but then some days are like that. It's that location, lighting and luck thing.
We wandered down to Shore Acres State Park on January 2nd to bring in the new year. It had been blowing and raining pretty hard the day before so I figured it would be a good surf day. It was good but it wasn't great as far as the waves went. What was great is the wind wasn't blowing hard and we didn't get rained on. It was also a great reason to get out of the house. We got a chance to see some elk at Dean Creek just West of Reedsport and I almost missed the possum that was crossing the road in the dark on the way home. I think he is now one of the short tail varieties of possum.
When I get my final sort from the Shore Acres trip done I'll put up a slide show page on the site and send out its location.
Hope you enjoy this weeks shot.
Have a great week,
Mike
The countdown continues on the 2010 Return To Alaska trip. More info in the links below.
I have started an Alaska 2010 web site here with current information on where we stand, where we will be going and what we will be doing. When we return from the trip site photos and such will be added like I did on the Alaska 2005 site.
