01/24/10 - Week 162
Raw Power...
First I would like to thank all of you that emailed me or posted on my Facebook page last week. My sister and I were talking on a walk back from one of moms neighbors and it hit both of us at the same time that it is really strange becoming orphans when you are in your late 50's. It's just not something we had thought about before it actually happened.
Needless to say I didn't get much done in the way of photography the last couple of weeks so I grabbed another image from my shoot at Shore Acres back on January 2nd.
The image posted week before last is at Shore Acres State Park on the Oregon coast while I was looking South. This weeks shot is from the same vantage point but looking North. While I do have shots of larger waves that show the height of the wave hitting the rocks (some get to 70 feet), I feel that this shot really shows the power of the water hitting the rocks. I assure you that you would not want to be in that water near the center of this photo. I don't think there would be much of you left for the Coast Guard to rescue.
I hope you enjoy the image and you have a great week.
Mike
The countdown continues on the 2010 Return To Alaska trip. More info in the links below.
I have started an Alaska 2010 web site here with current information on where we stand, where we will be going and what we will be doing. When we return from the trip site photos and such will be added like I did on the Alaska 2005 site.
